The Rest is Still Un-written

Conroversies in Sports
I was listening to the radio today, and they were discussing the controversies in sports...namely the Mike Vick incident and the NBA referee Tim Donagee (something like that) scandal. Basically, the crux of the argument is that these controversies are indicative of the world, because we place more value nowadays on the monetary, and "stuff", than we do on anything else. We don't just enjoy the moment, because we'd rather be out getting "stuff"...even "stuff" that will inevitably get us in trouble.I could probably write a book on this topic. But I will condense for the purposes of making this a "blog". I mean, the world is all about the themselves and people don't consider the consequences of their actions many times. The NBA referee got himself into debt and began betraying his job, the players, the coaches, the organizations, and even the fans, to earn exrta money...despite the fact that he makes around $250 K.
Mike Vick is just embarrassing everyone who has any affiliation with him, if he is convicted. Yes, people do unfairly go after athletes, so we will wait to see how this one pans out. But usually the Feds only get involved on real issues that they know they are going to win. With all this being said...I have had many sports arguments. And I feel that the NFL will be ok. They really don't need Mike Vick. He's a great QB, but there are plenty more. The NFL is currently the Nation's most popular sport. And there's tons of reasons for that. Various cultures still support the NFL. It's still a family sport. Comes on once a week. And the Super Bowl is like the biggest spectacle in the country. Now the NBA on the flipside is struggling.
I attended the All-Star weekend in Vegas and it was a wreck. The crowd is one that many of us do not want to be around. The NBA only caters for the most part now to one audience. And this scandal is the last thing they need. Jordan himself, would need to come back and suit up in a red 23 jersey to try to rectify this thing nicely, b/c the NBA hasn't been the same since."The rest is still unwritten..."
Uncertainty
Life- Websters should alter the definition to merely mean uncertainty. I mean, I remember back in the day, elementary, junior high school when everything seemed to makes so much sense. Everything was it's own puzzle in which all the pieces just fit nicely together. Once one piece was placed, the other piece magically appeared and knew exactly where to go. After 2nd grade, surely 3rd grade would follow. After you got your permit, surely your driver's license would come inevitably. Now, everything is totally different. I once thought for sure I would go to law school and have a successful and happy life, with a great companion. This is not certain...at all. I don't even know if I really want to go to law school, because well, the outcome I have always anticipated is not certain. There's no guarantee that once you finish a ton of schooling you will get the job you want, or have the life you want.Everything in life becomes more and more of a question mark! Now, we don't even know if the NBA we have been watching so intently and confidently has been partially a joke...fixed. Who ever would have thought a referee paid nearly $260,000 a season would be betting on games to get himself out of debt? Were the playoffs and their outcomes all a farce? Now...we have to question the other sports we obsess over and glorify!Uncertainty leads to risk. We do not know whether the person who appears to be "the one" will end up crushing our heart to little pieces and ruin our lives. We do not even know if the cell phone we pay $600 for will be outdated in the next month by a following more cutting edge phone. Another risk we take. These examples may be far fetched, but I know it all seems very complicated to my young but always wandering mind.I guess the only thing that is certain, is whether or not you are doing what you always wanted, fulfilling your dreams, or are simply miserable thinking of those things and not realizing them, as my favorite quote says..."The one thing that is certain is life goes on" (or something like that) lol. Blog Title
Inspired by Natasha Bedingfield's infectious song, "Unwritten" I thought some lyrics from the song would aptly title my blog. Yes, I too, like so many others, became hooked on the song as I watched Lauren "LC" Conrad move to Los Angeles, saw Heidi began her working career, and saw the guys in and out of their lives as they tackled change and new lifestyles head on.
The pages in my book thus far, are filled with paragraphs upon paragraphs of ups and down...highs and low. And at age 22, the rest, I hope will out-do the former, in length and substance.
At 22, I have so many questions, so much confusion. I think I know what I would like for my life to be, but in some areas have little hope that it will pan out to be so.
I do know, that I quit my job on Friday, and am about to make the biggest move of my life...out of my hometown city, born and raised, of Los Angeles, the best city in the world. Why? I still am not 100% sure why, and I do concur with others who say I'm crazy. But...to enter the grueling, trying, stressful, competitive, field of law.
And well..."the rest is still un-written".
